Claude and your data
Above Projects uses Claude, an AI model made by Anthropic, to draft and suggest. A person always decides. Here is what it sees and where it goes.
What Claude does here
- Asks a person a few questions when they make a request, and drafts the request from their answers.
- Checks whether a new request looks like an earlier one in the same organization.
- Suggests how the PMO might sort and score a request, with its reasons.
- Drafts a project’s charter from the approved request.
- Writes up a project leader’s rough notes as their weekly status.
- Drafts the weekly summary of what changed, for the PMO to check and accept.
What it never does
- Approve, decline, prioritize, close or decide anything. A person always decides.
- Send anything for you. Everything Claude writes is marked as its draft until a person edits, sends or accepts it.
- Pick a project’s health. The organization’s rules suggest it and the project’s leader chooses.
What Claude sees
What people have typed into Above Projects that the feature needs, and the organization’s own settings (for example its project sizes, priority measures, portfolios and teams). That can include what someone else typed earlier: a charter draft uses the approved request, and a review suggestion uses the request as its requester wrote it. For a weekly summary, that week’s status updates and decisions; for a status, that project’s notes, milestones, spending, risks and issues.
Claude also sees people’s names where the work needs them: a project’s leader, sponsor and requester, the owners of risks, and the leaders of projects whose status is missing.
To spot a repeated request, Claude compares a new request with the title and problem of other people’s requests sent in the same organization in the last 12 months. The person asking sees only the earlier request’s title, business unit and month.
Never another organization’s data, and nothing from outside Above Projects: not your email, files or other tools. Please don’t type passwords or private personal details into requests or notes.
Where it goes
Claude is made by Anthropic. Above Projects sends what Claude needs to Anthropic’s API from its own servers, never from your browser, under Anthropic’s commercial terms. Under those terms, what’s sent through the API isn’t used to train Anthropic’s models, and Anthropic keeps it only for a limited time. Anthropic’s privacy center has the details.
Above Projects keeps its data with Supabase (the database) and Vercel (the app), in the United States. Its emails (sign-in codes, invitations and notices, including the weekly summary) are sent through Resend, which keeps a copy of each email for a short time. The sign-in page uses Cloudflare Turnstile to check that a person, not a program, is signing in; Cloudflare sees the visitor’s browser and internet address, not their email.
What Above Projects keeps
Claude’s weekly status and summary drafts are kept only if a person saves them. Its other work is saved as it’s written, inside the organization, and marked as Claude’s: the interview’s questions and the request draft it fills in, its size guess, a possible earlier request like it, its review suggestions (which the PMO and Executives can read), and its charter draft (which everyone who can read the charter sees, marked “Claude draft”, until a person edits it).
For each call, Above Projects also records which organization and person made it, what it was for, which Claude model answered and how many tokens it used, to work out its cost. It doesn’t keep a log of the messages sent to Claude; the interview’s questions and answers are kept with the request, because they are part of it.
Requests, including unsent drafts and their interviews, are kept until the organization asks Above Soulutions to delete them. When an Admin removes someone, their unsent drafts are deleted.
How to turn it off
An organization’s Admins can turn Claude off in Settings › Health and Claude. Every screen still works: people fill in the forms themselves.
Budgets and limits
- Each organization can have a monthly Claude budget. Everyone using Claude sees how much of it is left.
- At 80% the organization’s Admins get an email. At 100% Claude pauses until the 1st of the next month; the forms still work by hand.
- Each person can make at most 200 Claude calls a day, and each draft or suggestion can be asked for only a few times.
Questions
Ask your organization’s Admin. They can reach Above Soulutions, which makes Above Projects.
